Anthony Lolli Proves The American Dream is Still Alive

Richard Lorenzen By on December 30, 2017

Achieving the “American dream” is central to what it means to be an American. Yet today less than 20% of Americans say they’re living the American dream. Anthony Lolli is just one example of how that dream is alive and well.

Real estate investor, philanthropist, and entrepreneur are just a few of the hats Anthony wears. The son of Italian American and Ecuadorian immigrants, he started from the bottom and fought his way to the top, despite most odds being against him, now running one of the top real estate firms in New York City.

Everything is Earned

As a child, Anthony promised his mother when he was growing up in a poor neighborhood in Brooklyn, New York, that he would make the family rich. At the age of 19, Anthony acquired his real estate license, and bought his first building at age 21. He went to work renovating properties under the banner of his company, Rapid Realty. From the heart of Brooklyn, he spent his entire savings on renovating buildings and gradually moved into the apartment rentals market.

He couldn’t afford to hire contractors, so he used a combination of day laborers and his own sweat to renovate his first properties. With no formal training and no background behind him, Anthony learned as he went. Yes, he made mistakes, but he also worked incredibly hard to make his dreams come true.

Unlike most companies of its kind, he focused on the outer boroughs and not in the prestigious area of Manhattan. Anthony leveraged the knowledge he had of Brooklyn and took this under-served market into the mainstream.

Was it a gamble?

Yes, but it was an educated one that paid off in the early 2000s when renters began to move into Brooklyn. This catapulted Rapid Realty NYC into stardom and Anthony helped to make Brooklyn the new ‘it’ destination in New York. His newfound success would lead Anthony to opening a real estate school, becoming an investment consultant, and making Rapid Realty into a franchise following the crash of 2008. The company made its debut on the INC. 5000 list of the fastest-growing companies in the country.

Inspiring Others to Live Out Their Dreams

Anthony recently launched a book titled The Heart of the Deal: How to Invest and Negotiate like a Real Estate Mogul. This book is a ‘must read’ for anyone who wants to get into real estate. Anthony launched this book to help more people achieve the American dream, aiming to bring compassion, diversity, and tolerance back to society and the real estate industry. The book is comprised of Anthony’s hardest-won lessons building a successful real estate company as a first-generation American in NYC.

The Heart of the Deal is the result of that venture. Anthony is confident that anyone can equip themselves with the lessons they need to start strong and finish strong.
